The Port Hills are an ideal place to get close to nature. Towering on the outskirts of the city, the hills are a favourite among mountain bikers, walkers and those who appreciate the area's captivating scenery. A number of ski fields are also within easy reach by car across the Canterbury Plains.
Christchurch's climate is the envy of many, delivering the best to suit the season - balmy in summer and cool in winter - perfect for those alpine activities.
