Tait Communications' operations are not expected to be affected by a fire which broke out in an ancilliary building shortly after the close of work in New Zealand today (Friday, 16 September 2016).
The building houses Tait Communications' stores area and two commercial tenants' offices. Much of the building has been empty as it was being refurbished. All staff members and cleaners are accounted for and safe, says Chief Executive Officer, Garry Diack.
"It appears that while the tenant office areas in this building have been badly damaged, the company's materials stores area has had only smoke damage. We are still assessing the impact of this but are reasonably confident the fire will not have any serious impact on production," Mr Diack says.
