Tait radios accepted on another USA state-wide network

Alaska is the latest state to certify the portables and mobiles of Tait Radio Communications, a global leader in providing radio solutions, onto its P25 state-wide digital radio network.P25 interoperable solutions from Tait

As part of its P25 digital trunked and conventional radio solutions, Tait offers P25 digital TP9135, TP9140, TP9155 and TP9160 portables and TM9135 and TM9155 mobile radios that have been formally tested with several leading manufacturers' radios and infrastructure so they can be easily added to state-wide network radio fleets.

  • Tait TP9100 portables and TM9100 mobiles have been certified on the following APCO P25 trunked state-wide radio networks:
  • Alaska Land Mobile Radio
  • Arkansas Wireless Information Network
  • Consolidated Communications Network of Colorado
  • StarCom 21, Illinois
  • Michigan Public Safety Communications System
  • Wyolink, Wyoming

"The certification of Tait on these state-wide networks offers radio users better value for money and reduces the chances of being locked into one P25 radio vendor," says Steve Cragg, president Tait Radio Communications, Americas region. "Tait adds more competition to the market, so effectively these states will get more for taxpayers' money. One radio doesn't fit the needs and applications of all users which is why Tait offers different tiers."

"The feedback we have had from some users in these states is Tait portables are the most robust P25 radios available, offering users more confidence their radio will work even after everyday knocks. In addition to the excellent audio quality and coverage, radio users love the fact that Tait portables and mobiles can be programmed with the same application. This saves time and hassle for radio technicians who may have to program radios on a daily, weekly or monthly basis."

In addition to being approved on state-wide networks, Tait is an inaugural participant in the P25 Compliance Assessment Program (P25 CAP). In May 2009, Tait was among only four land mobile radio manufacturers to be named by the US federal government as having a recognized P25 Compliance Assessment Program (P25 CAP) laboratory.

Since then, Tait TP9100 portable radios and TM9100 mobile radios have been through rigorous and objective tests with several certified manufacturers. In addition, Tait/EADS hosted an interoperability event to allow other manufacturers' subscribers to be tested with Tait TB9100/EADS CORP25 infrastructure.
