Charitable donations triple from generous industry members
Following the success of the previous Tait Industry Charity Days, in 2010 Tait has partnered with industry bodies APCO Australasia and ARCIA as well as fellow manufacturers RF Industries, Omnitronics and Zetron to host a combined Industry Charity Day in Melbourne on the 7th October 2010.
Since its inception the Industry Charity Day has been dedicated to fostering a community of representatives of the radio industry and supporting one of Tait's nominated Charities, The Smith Family Learning for Life programme.
The Smith Family representative speakingTait would like to thank all those who attended to contribute to such worthy causes. Special thanks must go to ARCIA, CIM Concepts, JRD, Omnitornics and Zetron for their more than generous donations, which were added to the total raised. Tait is pleased to announce that a total of $6,700 was donated to The Smith Family Learning for Life Program, tripling what was raised at the 2009 event.
A representative from The Smith Family attended the event and shared with the group how even the smallest of donations can go a long way towards improving a child's education. The money raised on the day will contribute to helping over 20 disadvantaged Australian children get support through The Smith Family's education and learning programs.
In addition to the fundraising, the day provided a forum to discuss common issues in radio industry in a social environment. The day was enjoyed by all with many looking forward to next year's event.
Following from the success of the Victorian events, a Queensland sister event was held earlier this year and received outstanding support from the Queenslandradio industry. Thanks to all the contributors at the 2010 industry events which have collectively raised over $13,000 for The Smith Family Learning for Life Program.
