Test Analyst

Who would this role suit?

The person who joins our team in this role will be a tester by nature who has the desire to share with and learn from colleagues and work in development test teams.  You will most likely have good experience with aspects of designing, maintaining and executing manual and automated test suites and exploratory testing because that is what we do here.  The extra experience we would be very keen for you to be able to bring to the team will be around networking. We would love to see a CCNA or CCNP in your background.

This role is interesting because:
You will be involved in or exposed to everything an R&D test team can throw at you.  You will get to support multiple projects, right across the Tait product range and you will be involved in test design, test automation, test execution and maintenance of manual and automated test suites. You will get the opportunity to apply a range of different test methodologies including exploratory test methods within a range of different test contexts (Tait products end up in diverse and often harsh environments so we do some pretty heavy testing).

What will you be doing on a daily basis?

  • Due to the nature of our products and the demands of our customers we can’t predict what you will be getting your hands on in this role but here is a flavour of what you will be getting up to:
  • Develop, set-up and maintain automated systems for hardware, software and networks (This is the foundation of the role)
  • Setting up of test tools and test environments according to the provided test specifications
  • Test design, execution, regression testing and exploratory testing (Excellent brain workout doing this)
  • Working with developers to identify and resolve issues (You need to be able to hold-your-own in a discussion and get your point across and back it up)
  • Reporting on test results and preparing issue reports.

Who are our teams?
There is something that we are very proud of here at Tait – our people.  The wider team that this role supports is a growing team of very talented testers and developers.  There are some very clever people here so you will be joining a supportive team where you will give and receive support every day.

Tait is a great place to further develop your career and we know that learning and development never stop so we will give you the opportunity and support to stretch yourself.

Our products are interesting because:
Tait is a well known brand globally (check out taitradio.com for more detail) and our focus is on public safety and utilities applications.  We make sure that the Victoria fire department has a wireless communication network that is robust enough to keep their fire-fighters informed and safe.  We provide solutions for electrical utilities companies that help them keep the power on. We create systems that monitor the location and performance of public transport systems.  In short, we are developing technologies that are used at the sharp end (mission critical) around the world.
