Tait in the media: China's Trunking Strategy

In the latest edition of Radio Resource International, Tait Communications Chief Technology Officer Trevor Laughton explains how the Chinese government is developing a digital trunked technology - Professional Digital Trunking (PDT) - that is poised to facilitate the country's evolution of existing analog networks.

"For the past 20 years, Chinese police users have gained valuable experience and knowledge about trunked systems and their applications. New requirements have been identified for mobile communications networks, and a set of technical standards are being developed based on practical police needs, creating the technical route for PDT and providing the groundwork on which to develop the new standard."
