Tait a finalist in prestigious Business Awards
Tait Radio Communications has been announced a 2012 finalist in the prestigious New Zealand International Business Awards.
Tait is one of nine finalists in the general over-$50 million category, which recognizes New Zealand businesses operating successfully in global markets.
Winners of seven categories in the Business Awards, which are run by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, will be announced in March.
Frank Owen, Tait Managing Director, says: “Tait is delighted to be a finalist in the Awards, which celebrates New Zealand’s global business success and recognizes professional excellence and innovative practice.
“The announcement underscores the continued growth and global market success that NZ-owned Tait is achieving. We have seen record revenues and profits in the last three years, with all of our strategic sectors growing.
“This, in turn, benefits our customers, our employees and 1,315 current NZ suppliers.”
As part of its growth strategy, Tait is focused on two sectors internationally: public safety organizations and utilities, whose operations rely on innovative and effective radio communications.
“Our efforts are focused on targeting and understanding these segments, and building and designing products and solutions which are optimized for our global customers’ needs,” adds Frank.
“Customers are now looking for outcomes rather than just products. Building a thriving services business and focusing on core sectors where we can provide solutions that add real value remains crucial for our continued growth."
In 2011, Tait’s revenue exceeded US$150 million, of which 95 percent was earned offshore. Tait invests more than 14 percent of its revenue in R&D and has facilities in Houston, Brisbane, Singapore and the UK.
In the last 18 months, to better access growth markets, Tait opened new international facilities in Vienna, Melbourne and Beijing.
